Find out who will be twiddling the nobs on the new Stone Sour album!

Corey Taylor spoke to Metal Hammer yesterday and confirmed that Rob Cavallo will produce the new Stone Sour album, which the band is due to begin recording this February.

“I just found out that I can tell you who we’re working with (on the next Stone Sour album), it’s Rob Cavallo,” Taylor told Metal Hammer. “He’s worked with a lot of people and it’s going to be awesome. I can’t wait to see what he does with us, man. We took a couple of meetings with him and he’s really, really stoked on the music. I think this is probably a little heavier he’s used to but I have every confidence we’re going to make a great album together.”

While Corey told us this yesterday, it is yet to be confirmed by the band officially or by Roadrunner.

Cavallo is best known for his work with Green Day. Amongst other names on Cavallo’s CV are The Dave Matthews Band, Paramore, Kid Rock, Avril Lavigne, Shinedown and My Chemical Romance.

If this line-up of bands scares you, don’t be such a whiney pussy. Taylor has already spoken out about how this album will be much darker than ‘Come What(ever) May’.

Το Come What(ever) May μου άρεσε σχετικά περισσότερο από το ομότιτλο, και τώρα περιμένω με μια ανησυχία να δω τι θα βγάλουν, κοιτώντας το όνομα του παραγωγού. Γιατί δεν πα να λέει ο Corey, αυτό το 'My Chemical...', εδώ μου κάθεται.

Επίσης στην κομματάρα 30-30-150, ντραμς παίζει ο μικρός θεός Shannon Larkin των Godsmack. Respect!

STONE SOUR HEAD INTO STUDIO TO RECORD THIRD ALBUM

Band working with Nick Raskulinecz

New York, NY – Grammy nominated rock powerhouse Stone Sour announced today the commencement of work on a new album for Roadrunner Records, their first in four years. The band will record their third album in Nashville at Blackbird Studio with Grammy Award winning producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver, Rush, Alice In Chains), who also produced 2006’s gold certified Come What(ever) May. The new album is due out this summer.

Frontman Corey Taylor commented, “I cannot wait to make this Stone Sour album. Everything already feels a million times stronger than anything we’ve done in the past. Plus getting back together with Nick is going to mean monstrous things. This is the year for Stone Sour.”

Stone Sour’s last album Come What(ever) May and self-titled debut are both RIAA Gold Certified and approaching platinum status. The albums have a combined 1 million digital singles sales. The band has had three top 3 active rock hits with “Bother,” “Through Glass” and “Silly World,” one top 10 Active Rock hit with “Made of Scars,” two Modern Rock hits with “Bother” and “Through Glass.” “Through Glass” remained at #1 on the Active Rock charts for a record 7 weeks. MTV, MTV2, VH-1, Fuse and Music Choice have continually offered major support. Stone Sour has to date received three Grammy nominations.

...θα σε πω ότι είσαι κρίμα.
Σοβαρά τώρα, για ένα από τα 3 "χαμηλότερα" support μόνο δε λέει να σκάσεις το 80άρικο που έχει το εισιτήριο, όπως το βλέπω εγώ... γιατί στην τελική, θα βγουν ντάλα μεσημέρι και πάνω από 40 λεπτά δεν το κόβω να παίζουν... άντε 45, στο τρελό κέφι.

Αλλά όσο να πεις, την δόση μας θα την πάρουμε.

^ Τώρα που ανέφερες τις λέξεις "live" και "Bother"...

Δεν θυμάμαι να το έχει ξαναποστάρει κανείς... δεν είναι υπέροχο? Αφού η βραδιά -αν και οι Sour μεσημέρι θα βγουν, αλλά λέμε τώρα- θα έχει και Metallica, θέλω κάνουν αυτό το "ενδιαμεσο πέρασμα" και να έχει και guest εμφάνιση... από φαντασία άλλο τίποτα.

Δεύτερη φορά που ποστάρω το ίδιο κομμάτι, αλλά πραγματικά, το αξίζει.

Το Bother, από το Download του περασμένου Σαββάτου, την πρώτη φορά που το παίζει live o Corey μετά το θάνατο του Paul Grey...


Επίσης, πριν από μερικές μέρες, είχαν βάλει για δωρεάν κατέβασμα το Mission Statement από τον καινούριο δίσκο τους, στο official.. hard-rockια όσο δεν παίρνει, στα στυλ των δυνατών κομματιών που μας έχουν συνηθίσει στα προηγούμενα δύο album. Προσωπικά μου φέρνει λίγο παραπάνω σε εκείνα του ομότιτλου, χωρίς να έχω ξεκαθαρίσει ακόμα πλήρως τον λόγο. Έχω την αμυδρή εντύπωση ότι είναι λόγω των φωνητικών, που είναι λίγο πιο "γκαζωμένα" από εκείνα του Come Whatever May.
Λογικά θα το ακούσουμε κι αυτό live...

Όντως.. και στο συγκεκριμένο live, είναι απίστευτη η ερμηνεία του.

Και αν το παρατηρήσεις, στην αρχή, όταν φωνάζει ο κόσμος "Paul Gray", ο Corey φαίνεται πραγματικά συγκινημένος. Και όταν τους λέει να ηρεμίσουν... απλά θεικό.
